As you may have noticed, I haven’t been blogging much. I haven’t been able to progress on my Reaching For Stars Quilt as much as I would have liked. I was able to get all the blocks sewn together, but not the borders yet.
A few years ago, I had hip surgeries, a back surgery and a fractured sacrum. I worked hard at physical therapy, and although it took a long time, without my team I wouldn’t have been able to have had a few good, pain free years. The pain has been coming back and then hit very hard. I couldn’t sit at my sewing table and sew or perform any of the activities needed to finish this top, baste it or quilt it.
Lots of doctor appointments and test have happened since. And this is now considered a chronic condition. I am slowly getting back to my quilting, but for short periods of time. I am able to sit or lie down and work on embroidery stitches. It’s been so calming to do that work.
I have been reading many of your wonderful quilting blogs, fb and IG posts, and they make me smile. It’s great inspiration, and although this sounds corny, I have to say, at times, it has been “the wind beneath my wings.”
On another note, this is a photo of my Reaching For The Stars quilt; blocks sewn together.
