Sew Mama Sew Giveaway Day

Happy Holidays!!

Beginning Wednesday December 7th through, Sunday, December 11th, I will be participating in a Sew Mama Sew Gvie-a-Way with  The Hudson Valley Quilts prize is a bundle of fat quarters to 1 lucky winner.

This sophisticated and festive bundle of 24 fat quarters are comprised of  six red fabrics, six white fabrics, and 12 very navy blue fabrics. Gold motifs decorate each one.

All you need to do to enter, is leave a comment in my comment box below telling me what is your favorite holiday dessert? It could be a holiday cookie, a cake, a flavored bread pudding, or a candy. Anything can qualify. It can be sweet or savory dessert. It’s that easy.

To get you going I will share mine. Truth be told, I am already craving my very favorite Rachel Ray’s Panettone Bread Pudding. This is followed by my favorite close second, Giada De Laurentiis’s Chocolate Salami. (It travels very easily if you are going to someone’s home).

I will announce the winner on this blog on Monday morning by 10:00 AM. The give-a-way officially ends at midnight on Sunday, December 11th, PST. PLEASE leave me your e-mail address in the comment box if you are a no reply blogger so I can reach you if you win. If we can’t connect in 24 hours  I will select a new winner. This give-a-way is open to those in U.S. only.

Many other quilt bloggers and crafters are participating in the Sew Mama Sew Give-a-Way Day!! By clicking this link, you will be directed to the Sew Mama Sew Home Page, where you can check out other fabulous bloggers and their give-a-ways, that include handmade gifts, sewing or craft supplies.

Good luck and enjoy exploring all these exciting opportunities and blogs!!

I love to read everyone’s comments and respond to everyone by e-mail. However, during these bigger give-a-ways, I may not be able to get back to each person, but I will try.

My mom used to make a delicious dessert we called “Christmas Salad”. It came from the old Mike Roy cookbook–does anyone even remember him? He was one of the first celebrity chefs. We loved that dessert and used to ask her to make it more frequently, but she said that if she made it more often, it wouldn’t be special. That was an important lesson and I learned it early. She was right.

Thank you, Lissa. I completely migrated over to WordPress. I had a tech who specializes in this do it. Yes, I had to pay….but it was completely worth it. And I am just about to finish my class in blogging, which is making me more tech saavy and providing food for thought for more blog posts with more interesting content. Next semester I will finish this certificate course in Social Media Marketing. The upside is I learned a lot. The downside is no one teaches Pinterest or Instagram for this certificate. The upside is that I am taking a very intense class in Pinterest through February. The downside is that on 12/19 I am having minor shoulder surgery, and I don’t know if I’ll be able to sew, but I can type. The upside is I may be the new adjunct for this certificate program to teach Pinterest, which would be great. Another huge upside is we are going to the Keys for 8 days in February. So excited for the beach and pool. Next February, I think we are going to Australia.
How is your husband? Hopefully no PTSD. How are your kids and you? Thank you so much for the Hanakauh card. That was so kind and thoughtful. What are you all doing for the holidays?
We are doing our annual come over and hang out at our house in your pajamas for the day. Watch TV with us, play games, and eat great food from Arthur Avenue, and other good things and have a glass of wine. I think we will have about 10-12 come throughout the day. We always have fun, and seriously, people come in their pajamas or comfy clothes. Wish you all could come. It’s a lot of fun.
I am featuring Trinia on the blog in a week, for a Christmas give-a-way. Joanne for Valentine’s Day. And then you. Pick a March or April holiday, or we can feature you as my spring interview.
Have a great rest of the weekend.
      xoxo,
      Anne

Believe it or not, but it’s a prune cake that my mom makes at Christmas. It has muliple layers and is filled with fruit, nuts, and a delicious icing. Then she covers it with coconut. It’s incredibly moist and delicious!! I want some now!

What a glorious bundle of Christmas fabrics…they would be so much fun to create with! I am a hard-core chocolate lover every day of the year, but one goodie at Christmas time is hard to pass by. That is my Raspberry Shortbread Bars. We all love them and I often have to make 2 batches to keep us all happy! Merry Christmas to you and yours!

My husbands Snickerdoodle cookies are so mouthwatering, I just may have to get him to make a batch up today! On Christmas Day though my Mother makes this Cream Cheese dessert covered in Raspberries that I could easily devour all to myself, except that Mom and my Daughter both want equal shares! Thank you so much for the opportunity to win these gorgeous fabrics! I love fabrics that are adorned with the gold like this, they are classy in my book! Have a fantastic creative day and Happy Holidays!
