I was really excited when I learned I won a box of Aurafil threads from Sara Lawson @sewsweetness.com and Brenda Ratliff @justalittlebitfrayed, and Pink Castle Fabrics. To participate in this give-a-way, a feedback survey after Sew Pro, needed to be filled out and entered.
As you can probably tell, I enjoy each phase of opening a gift or a surprise. First it came in a pouch, that my husband brought in from the mailbox, when it was pouring rain. Thank you!!
Then I opened the package, and this was inside….a box of thread, and a lovely card from Sara @sewsweetness. I love her bag patterns.
And, here’s the beautiful thread….
I use a lot of neutral colored thread, and am happy there was some in this box. I have some plans for the colorful spools of thread too, so stay tuned. The thread is all 50 wt., which is perfect for me. I am glad I got to share this with you.
This box of threads was curated by Brenda Ratliff, to coordinate with her new Fall line of fabrics, which you can see in her shop, Pink Castle Fabrics. One Room Schoolhouse, was manufactured by RJR fabrics, and you can see it there as well.
Brenda also gave-a-way a bunch of charm packs at Sew Pro. Here is a preview of how the fabric and thread work so well together.
The color scheme includes texts, one of my favorite types of prints. There are medium size to small prints, and blenders in this collection. And, some are tone on tone, and some are not.
The colors are varied, which is a big plus when using these fabrics to build some contrast. For example, the yellow, pink, red, blue-green, and very dark green; (fourth fabric from the reader’s left, bottom row), are more saturated than the other fabrics. When saturated fabrics are used next to those less saturated fabrics; it will make them pop.
Love it!! Thank you Brenda and Sara.
