Many of you know Cheryl Brickey @MeadowMist Designs. For those of you who don’t, she is an “engineer by day, quilter by night.” A very talented quilter and pattern designer, I must add.
I met Cheryl when we both participated in the 2014 New Quilters Blog Hop. I absolutely marveled at her designs. They resonated with me personally, because they appeal to my aesthetic design.
Last summer I reluctantly decided to join her Midnight Mystery Monthly Quilt QAL. You are probably asking yourself “why?” I tend to use a lot of directional fabrics, and especially text fabrics, and with a mystery quilt you never know how those fabrics will look when the quilt is finished.
Fortunately, Cheryl gave an option to participants who wanted to peek at the final quilt before the QAL began. An absolute promise is made from those who receive it, of not posting their progress or information, until Cheryl gives the “okay” each month, on a specific day, for all to share their progress.
I love the outcome and the quilt I finished.
Now that you have a sense of the background story, let me get to the star of this post, Cheryl Brickey. I was fortunate enough to interview her for Issue 12 of Make Modern e-zine.
Cheryl also designed a gorgeous quilt that is featured in this issue. Cheryl’s latest design is called, Half Circle Mirror. And all the directions are in the magazine to make this quilt. This is a fabulous e-zine and I enjoy every issue. I think you will too. (I am not influenced by the magazine to say this). Just writing the truth about what I think.
