Happy National Quilting Day!! I have been under the radar for the last few weeks. I’ve been healing my shoulder (had surgery on 2/22), spending a great deal of time doing physical therapy, and working hard to finish the top for the Midnight Mystery Quilt sponsored by Cheryl@MeadowMistDesigns.
So what is National Quilting Day and what is it all about?
“In 1991, the National Quilting Association decided to create a special day to celebrate and inspire lovers of quilting and to encourage others to take up this charming and addictive craft. Quilting Day was born, and has been celebrated ever since by quilt and patchwork lovers every spring.” https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/quilting-day/
I love this quote, because quilting is a “charming and addictive craft,” and I am always “inspired,” by the fabric, the stitches, the process and the designs. It is something to be celebrated.
The web site this quote came from will provide more information. Please check it out.
I love that it falls just before Spring, because this it is the time of year I begin to find so many inspirations. I find myself putting more quilts on my “to do” list. And that’s not all. I sketch more, take more photos, explore neighborhoods and walking outdoors more and watch the crocus, daffodils and tulips pop. The list goes on and on and….
In honor of National Quilting Day and all quilters, I am offering this give-a-way.
A Lecien jelly roll. The fabric pattern is called sushi, and is full of bright, Spring colors. (This give-a-way is limited to U.S. mailing addresses only.) And please, leave me your e-mail address if you are a no-reply blogger, so I can get in touch with you if you win.
I will announce the winner on Wednesday, March 23rd.
All you need to do leave a comment in my comment box telling me; 1. What is your favorite thing about spring, and 2. What is your favorite spring recipe? Or let me know what quilting project you are working on.
Have a great weekend and Happy National Quilting Day!!
