Quilt Fabric, Vacation in Canada, and a Great Quilt Shop

Several years ago, my husband and I lived in Almonte, Ontario while he learned to become a custom furniture maker.  Since then, we have visited the friends we made here a number of times. This time we are here for him to take another class and visit with our friends.

We found a wonderful quilt shop in Carlton Place, called The Pickle Dish.

I’ve been somewhat scouting around to see if I can find just another meter or yard of a light blue batik fabric I ran out of, while making Cheryl’s Midnight Mystery Quilt. I found just what I needed in this lovely shop.

Of course, I couldn’t resist a meter of this adorable fabric with cats on it too.

I am going to share some photos of this shop. We got there about a half hour before closing, and I would have loved to interview Jan, the owner. Her store has been open for about three years. I am planning on interviewing her in 2016 for this blog, so stay tuned.

In the meantime, I will leave you with some photos of the shop and you can see for yourself how enticing it is.

This is where you can find The Pickle Dish or contact them;

I will end this post with this photo of downtown Carlton Place lit up for the holidays, which I just love.

I love to read your comments and respond to each one by e-mail. I hope everyone is enjoying their holiday season.

Happy Quilting!!

    So glad you found the fabric you were searching for, and I am not surprised you found it at The Pickle Dish.
    Jan stocks the most gorgeous fabric and most of the collections are not to be found anywhere else.
    Jan and Cheryl and Melanie always welcome you and create such a happy place for quilters. Just like visiting old friends.
