Vacation in Spain – Part 1

We are back from a very long vacation in Spain. We started in Madrid, flew down to the Southern Coast, and finished in Barcelona.

It was a great trip and full of inspirations. The next 2-3 posts will be of our trip.
Many have asked that I share. So here we go…..

This is in the center of Madrid. We took photos before we went on a food and Tapis tour.

Meat is everywhere. Pork Products are very popular in Spain. The premium pork comes from white-hoofed pigs. The less expensive product comes from black-hoofed pigs. Honestly, I couldn’t tell the difference. This is a lovely country to visit. If you are a vegetarian, it is not the easiest to find non-meat products, and many store fronts that sell meats look like this and they are everywhere.

The two children on the right are dressed for Flamenco Dance Lessons. This main square was busy that evening. Many were  watching street performers.

We went into a popular local department store, and back-to-school supplies were everywhere and flying off the shelves.

I tried to find something I liked that I couldn’t buy back in the U.S., but I couldn’t find anything.

Lots of beautiful shops like this one, were tucked into small side streets and on large main streets.

And, many beautiful doors everywhere!!
Next stop….Marbella and Estepona!!

Hi Anne: How funny, we were in France at the same time for 3 weeks! Flew home on Oct 1! We wend from Normandy to Provence with 2 days in Paris!
Many of your shots are similar to what I have: food, stores, doors, etc. Couldn't find any fabric stores where we were but that's ok…I found the similar sentiment when we were in England 2 years ago…most of the fabric was Moda and such from US vendors!
I bet you are glad to be home as was I!!
